Why studing medicine in Bulgaria

1. The most important argument for studying Pharmacy, Medicine, Dental Medicine and Veterinary Medicine in Bulgaria is the fact that for foreign students there is no waiting period, there is no Numerus Clausus. There is only an admission test for the level of English language and a simple test in biology and chemistry. In this way you skip the long waiting for the beginning of the studies in Germany and you are not obliged to invest years in other forms of education and subjects, only to be able to eventually study the speciality you wish to study. Do not hesitate and immediately start really studying medicine!

In the same time, Bulgarian medical education is distinguished with high international recognition, quality and long tradition. The flight to Bulgaria from UK is only two hours long, regardless of the destination - Sofia, Plovdiv or Varna. The prices are really affordable (around 150 € for a round trip, e.g. with Rhyanair or EasyJet). There are flights to Bulgaria several times a day from London, Manchester, Frankfurt, Berlin and Munich (direct flights).

2. Bulgaria is a member of the European Union since January 2007. Therefore, Bulgarian laws are coordinated with the European legislation and are similar to those in Germany. The same goes for the structure of the educational system and integration or respectively the recognition of education in the entire European Union.

3.3. The certificates with the results from the studies in Bulgaria can be recognized on your return in your country. This facilitates the change of the place of study and continuing your studies in f.e. UK or Germany where vacated student places could be filled.

4. D The Bulgarian approbation as a physician is internationally recognized. You can practise the profession in UK, Germany, Austria as well as the entire European Union. In cooperation with the American authorities, some Bulgarian universities offer sitting the necessary examinations for approbation in the USA, on site, here, in Bulgaria!

6. You study in a country which is a popular tourist destination in Europe and a lot of tourists have holidays on the Black Sea coast in the summer, and in the ski resorts in the winter.

9. It is important to mention that the cost of living is lower than the other member states. The education can be funded under the nacional law of your EU-home-country or by local banks.

10. The country offers a wide variety of medical universities with high quality education. There is a total of 6 universities in 5 Bulgarian cities, where medicine can be studied: Sofia (2 universities), Varna, Plovdiv, Stara Zagora and Pleven.
